Radio, More Radar at newyorkjets.com

Posted by Eric Allen on August 22, 2008 – 9:29 am

In our continuing effort to provide you with quality content here on newyorkjets.com, we’re excited to announce two new features to our site: Internet radio and an expanded blogosphere.

Tony Richardson, the three-time Pro Bowl fullback, will lead us into the airwaves with “Paving the Way with T-Rich.” I’ll join Tony each broadcast as we meet weekly throughout the season. Our first preseason installment is available today and you can listen to it now.

Editor-in-chief Randy Lange and I are also set to host a weekend preview show. “Jets Two-Minute Drive” will air on Friday afternoons during the regular season and the show will be archived so you can get your Jets fix heading into the upcoming game. "The Drive” makes its debut next week.

Once Coach Mangini releases his weekly schedule, we’ll firm up show times and dates for everyone. Guests will appear periodically on both programs and don’t worry if you miss it the first time around — everything will be available via archive.

Our blog space, better known as “Randy’s Radar,” is growing. Jets play-by-play man Bob Wischusen, Green & White color commentator Marty Lyons and SNY personalities Greg Buttle, Ray Lucas and Steve Overmyer will now contribute to the popular blog spot.

Overmyer, whom Randy featured in an article earlier this week, is really into our blogosphere concept and has the first offering, which you’ll be able to read today.

We hope you’ll be pleased with our additions. There are a bunch of quality people coming on board and both Randy and I think you’ll like the product. Please continue reading and commenting, but we ask you to listen as well. If you want to ask T-Rich a question, please email it to radio@newyorkjets.com.

This sounds like a pretty interesting idea. A way to interact with fans that have stirring questions. The Jets could only help. If they win, less criticism, if they lose, watch out reporters. Let’s hope Chad doesn’t make our trades come back to bite us.

A huge thank you, Eric!! I grab up any shred of info that I can find on MY Jets!! I have been a fan since the first days (and am now old enough to be the grandmother of a lot of the players!! I love that we now have Brett, who always looked to me like the kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar!!! Keep up the good work….a fan from CNY!!

Eric or Randy, there is a report over at the National Football Post that the Jets are unhappy with O’Dea and bringing back Mike Westhoff. Any truth to this? Can someone ask Mangini at the next press conference?

The site is become a huge hit. First Favre and now celebrity guests for us fans… All kidding aside you guys have done a great job since the site started Randy’s Radar. Been here since day 1 and just cannot seem to get rid of you guys……. I can’t wait for Frank to call Greg Butle or Marty Lyons a Green Kool-Aid drinker.

Hey Randy, since the Jets are always looking for diamonds in the rough, do you think we could teach Ussein Bolt to catch a football?

I really hope to see our new FB on the field a lot this year. I wasn’t sure if we had a FB last year. Found it odd with such a weak O-line.

This site is great!!! My nephew just got his no 4 Jets jersey in the mail and you should have seen him wearing it around in central WI. We were wondering why the Packers don’t have a site as good as this and we decided it was because they don’t want to know what the fans are thinking right now. So, appreciate the priviledge of being welcomed by the old Jet fans. Thanks and GO JETS!!!

I agree this cite is awesome. All of my buddy’s are in awe that I get to chat with other Jets fans on the internet, and they get “FA whoever just got signed” or some goofy intro from last year. Randy should be signed for 10 years.
