No Compensatory Picks for Jets This Year

Posted by Randy Lange on March 27, 2011 – 9:26 am

If this is late March, it’s time to award the compensatories. And as usual, the Jets were on the outside looking in.

The NFL announced Friday night the awarding of 32 compensatory picks in the 2011 draft, ranging from the end of Round 3 to the end of the Round 7. Twenty-three teams received those picks. The Green & White were one of the nine teams not to get any picks.

The Associated Press story kindly noted that since the compensatory system began in 1994, to help out teams that lost more players during free agency than they signed in the previous year, the Jets have received the fewest compensatories of all the teams that have been in the league since ’94, a total of five.

This year, though, it’s really no surprise that the Jets were shut out of the extra selections. As one of the NFL’s final-four teams last year, they were limited to signing an unrestricted free agent only after they lost one. Kicker Jay Feely signed with the Cardinals and the Jets then brought in LB Jason Taylor. That was the extent of their UFA activity, with their other major acquisitions being made through trades. And picks are awarded based on a formula that takes into account the free agents each team signed and lost in the previous year.

It’s ancient history now, but here is the list of the Jets’ five compensatory picks over the years:

2004 — T Adrian Jones, Kansas, Round 4

2004 — DE Trevor Johnson, Nebraska, Round 7

2004 — RB Derrick Ward, Ottawa (KS), Round 7

2004 — S Rashad Washington, Kansas State, Round 7

2006 — S Eric Smith, Michigan State, Round 3

Of the 555 compensatory picks distributed since 1994, the Ravens have received the most, 31, while the Browns (who had no team for three seasons) have the fewest, two.

The biggest effect of this year’s compensatories on the Jets’ draft is how far it will push their picks down in Rounds 4-7 on Saturday, April 30, the final day of the draft. The NFL hasn’t released its official list of all seven rounds yet but the Jets, as a conference finalist for the second straight year, were slated to pick 30th in each round.

But because the Panthers received the only compensatory at the end of Round 3, the Jets’ fourth-rounder will be one pick lower. With two more picks awarded in Round 4, the Jets’ fifth-rounder will be three rungs lower. With two picks awarded in Round 5, the Jets’ sixth-rounder will be five slots lower. And with six more compensatories awarded in Round 6, the Jets’ seventh-rounder (from the Cardinals in last year’s Kerry Rhodes trade) will be 11 spots lower.

I am liking the revis trade now more and more without no compensatory picks and their lack of regular draft choices, this isn’t baseball where richest teams win out,in football you have to be more creative and where jets are positioned now they will not get a dominate player in front seven.

I like the core of the team right now, but I truly hope that they switch courses for this draft and trade down if possible to acquire a few extra picks rather then move up for one player at the expense of another one or two draft picks. The team needs depth, especially at the bottom of the roster, what better way to get it then a few extra draft picks in the mid to late rounds?

The ultimate compensatory pick was Brady back in 2000.

I would like for the jets to begin aquiring draft picks for next year and so on, like the way NE has, if you dont use them just keep pushing them forward to the following year, when situations like this occur those extra picks can be mighty handy, and not only in the draft, as Im sure everyone knows.

so what else is new? ..the jets have had the least draft picks amongst the NFL since 94 i suppose….

  6. By Randy Lange on Mar 28, 2011 | Reply

Pranit, the Jets have had 123 picks in the 17 drafts since 1994, an average of 7.2 picks per draft. The total is 27th in the NFL and 25th for the 27 teams that have been in the league every season since ’94. The Redskins have 111 picks (6.5) and the Saints 117 picks (6.9). UPDATE: I finished research on all the non-compensatory picks and the Jets have fared a little better. They’ve had 118 non-compensatory picks from 1994-2010, an average of 6.94 a year, 19th out of the 27 teams that have been in the NFL every season since ’94.

Mr T needs a draft like they had in 06 when he landed 2 Pro Bowl OL both Smiths, Drew and Leon. He hasn’t had that philosophy in a while trading up to get the players he wanted. He was able to do that because he took care of other needs during free agency. Now with free agency possibly being after the draft they might do things different. I still think all the players that signed their tenders will be back except maybe Drew.
    GO JETS!!!!

Randy, Good #’s as always and if you look over the Jets’ drafts since 01 look at some of the players they have drafted that have either played for awhile for the Jets or moved on to other teams for a number of reasons. Ther are some real high profile players with Revis being the top. This personnel staff and scouting dept has done an excellent job for the most part. I would say in the top 10 % in the NFL.

this is a weak draft in a lot of positions so trading back in this draft isn’t doing the jets any good and what would they get by trading back with the 30th pick.Is cam newton dropping that far.jets don’t even have a second to offer a team.funny jets are right with the redskins when it comes to total picks since 94.two teams who believe in signing the veterans for quick results.

Speaking of picks and vets, you guys might remember me saying J-Co is one of the only players we have that we might be able to afford to trade for a pick if we kept Holmes and Edwards. Well, news that he played ’10 with a herniated disc cuts both ways. It speaks to his great courage and commitment and also may explain the dropped passes. It also suggests he has a lot more wear and tear on him than SH and BE, as this is 2 yrs in a row he’s been out in mid-season. The problem with sentimentality over players is that it obscures realities like these, just like sentimentality over TJ, Leon, and Faneca obscured the realities of their recently decreased worth. I’m sorry to see fan favorites go too, but it’s a small price to pay for a better team.

  11. By scjoe on Mar 28, 2011 | Reply

64tom, as much as I like J Co, I have to agree with you that he could possibly bring a pretty high pick or 2 mid rounders, either way, it has my seal of approval. I think SH will be here in 2011, BE, with his legal problems not so sure, there is a question of WHEN he will be available if he is available, to bad. But I believe the WR position is not that difficult a spot to address, what with who we have had into camp in the past few years, they all know the system and all should be serviceable.

  12. By ddh on Mar 28, 2011 | Reply

How many picks do the jets really need for this years draft? if not many then why not trade this years picks for better picks next year, and use free agency,
if the jets continue to finish as they’ve done the past two years, they’ll need to
build up a stash of high round picks, with an aging D and having to trade using next years picks to move up, could become very troublesome.

  13. By Jet Fan Since '64 Tom on Mar 28, 2011 | Reply

Thanks for the sane, decidedly unsentimental response, scjoe. I agree completely with your assessment of SH and BE, both of whom you know I want to keep but there’s no denying that BE’s atrocious mistake with drinking and driving has complicated his situation enormously. But while I sort of know what you mean about WR not being so hard to address, I’d agree with that more if Sanchez was coming along faster and, much more importantly, if Rex and Schotty looked like they knew what they were doing on O more often — or even if they sounded like they were on the same page every Sunday. The only thing that could ever make me want Schotty over Rex as HC is Rex’s dumb talk about “just wanting to run the ball.” WAKE UP, dude, it’s the NFL in 2011!

  14. By Jet Fan Since '64 Tom on Mar 28, 2011 | Reply

P.S. to scjoe: And if by “who we have had into camp in the past few years” you’re referring to, say, Clowney, I’m not allowed by GaryC to mention that name. I’m not sure if he’d come down so hard on me if I said I’d like to see Allison get another shot with us.

the jets need a monster in the middle to replace kris jenkins. sione p. did a more than admirable job,but we need another big body up front.

The 06 draft was the best ever.
They drafted Brick, Mangold, Brad Smith, Leon Washington
They traded for 2 other 2006 first round picks … Santonio Holmes and Cromartie.
That’s 5 players that made all pro from one draft.

  17. By IRA on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

I couldn’t even consider moving J- Co. It’s crazy for this upcoming season. Regardless of if they re-sign BE or not both him and SH are 1 mistake from being suspended. Lets say one or both mess up and you have moved J-Co. Then what you are down to Mizzou and Turner and a rookie you drafted? Sorry this isn’t happening. And this is a moot debate because as long as the lockout will be in place you can’t trade a player for picks. You can only trade picks for picks.

  18. By IRA on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

And if this thing gets settled in mid to late August or hate to say early Sept there just won’t be enough time for any draft picks or rookies to really make an impact this year. The only players that could produce would be at the RB position. That’s it! Any other position besides a punter or kicker would have just too much to learn and without those spring and summer camps they will be of little use for the most part.
Prediction players will cave late August, teams get two weeks to get ready and bang the season kicks off. So the first month will be like preseason games with players shaking off the rust and getting into game shape but they count.

  19. By GaryC on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

as much as I like cotchery you are not getting two mid rounders for him or a high second, jet fans need to think big in terms of getting high picks,we need Mr Wilson to prove he is more than a nickel back seeing that he was selected in first round then trade revis,if not to patriots which some fans on this site hate, then what about to cowboys who have ninth selection in first round and maybe also a second from them which would be high.teams that win championships take chances and to some on this site trading revis is blasphemous.

  20. By Jimmer on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

I have an odd draft idea. Lets just look toward the 2012 draft. The gamble(as some might say) will be that training camp will be a wash. The rookies drafted this year will get scarce playing time. Trade the #1 for someone’s 5 and next years 1. Go along those lines. We’re not getting a game killer no matter what we do in this draft. But extra picks next year and high ones at that would afford us plenty of movement.

  21. By Jet Fan Since '64 Tom on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

Ira and GaryC, I don’t say trading J-Co is that viable, especially now that he’s gotten injured 2 yrs in a row. I use him to illustrate 2 pts: (1) You can’t sentimental about players, if someone DID offer us the #2 pick we don’t have this yr, you know we’d take it, and (2) Our roster is surprisingly thin even at certain positions that we’re seemingly thick in, like WR as you make clear re SH and BE’s disciplinary problems. All more reasons to start believing in the draft — this yr’s, next yr’s, every year’s. Rex can blather all he wants about NE but there’s no way we’re ever really going to overtake them if they keep drafting good guys in abundance and we keep praying for people like Taylor and Pryce to play like they’re ten yrs younger.

  22. By scjoe on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

64tom, those other WRs we had in camp over the past few years I was referring to, along with Clowney and Allison are, Turner and Henry, there was also another big kid that Rex liked I think his name was Wittiker, also a couple that I can’t even recall their names. Ira, I hear what you are saying about the risk involved should SH or BE screw up again, but it might not be a good idea to make these decisions based on “what if’s” because that can entail almost anything.

  23. By scjoe on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

I am not that big a fan of Revis “the person” based on what he did at camp last year, but he is the last guy I would want to see traded. Lock down corners like him just do not come along that often, and behind him we are pretty shaky on the back end. I also believe a lot of what Rex does on D is dependent upon Revis taking away the #1 WR. That would be a huge mistake and I don’t see it happening any time soon.

Quinn is the best of the lot but he will be gone,Houston is awesome too,Watts,Wilkerson,Jordan,Kerrigan and Reed are the only first rounders we should think about. All we be gone at 30. Remember this comment, Jets will trade down to the second round and draft Safety Quinten Carter unless they can’t find a trader, then they will take him at 30

  25. By uncle joe on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

Ahkim Ayers & Hayward are TERRIBLE, not crazy about Aldon Smith or any of these top tier NTs.Phil Taylor shows NO effort. Read an article that Jets worked out Clemsons DT Jennings,6’5″ 310.Love to see the Jets trade 30 for a 2 & a 3,draft S Carter in round 2 and DTs Jennings and Kendrick Ellis in round 3. 4th round should be DE/LB Rick Elmore, plays opposite Brooks Reed, same player minus the long hair.

  26. By uncle joe on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

Best RB in the draft is Cal’s Vereen, remember I said it.CB Harris will probably go to the Pariots and be a Pro Bowler,5’11″ LB Brian Rolle,if he goes to the right team is an animal.TE Trochia if healthy will be the best TE in the draft, might go undrafted along with Rolle,I think the Jets have two 7th rounders for them!

  27. By uncle joe on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

If the Jets get Rick Elmore in the 4th round he will continue our 4th round steal streak (last years Mcknight will make you very happy this year).Personally I feel that Belicheck will draft every player that I want and make me cry for the next 4+ years!

    Tom,
They will draft a WR this year and i mentioned before two names they can take in the middle rds. V. Brown or R. Johnson. I see Jets written all over Johnson. He would be a perfect fit for them and they can develop him into a player who can take over for J-Co down the road someday. Johnson should be able to step in and take over the punt return duties right off the bat. I really don’t want to see Leonhard back there anymore. Too much of a risk.

  29. By IRA on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

And don’t forget Johnson’s Soph year his #’s 33-570-17.3-8 TD’s were with none other than Mr. Sanchez.
As for randy’s OLB story Ayers is the guy i hope they can get if they decide to go after a pass rusher in the 1st rd. Houston i trust Mayock’s remarks about him as an OLB in a 3-4.

  30. By Jet Fan Since '64 Tom on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

scjoe, I agree with you that Ira shouldn’t put too much emphasis on SH and BE’s legal problems, but those WRs you list are all either unproven or disappointments, like Clowney. And Whittaker was the guy from West Virginia, right? Who got cut almost immediately. Sanchez wasn’t even that great this yr with SH, BE, and J-Co, I’m not anxious to see him with novices at WR. Ira, I think your choices for picks at WR are great but you can’t seriously tell me that this team can afford to pick a WR any earlier than about 5th at best with all the other needs we have — and those needs include P and K which, it’s becoming clear, neither the Jets nor anyone on this site feel all that great about as it stands now.

  31. By IRA on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

    uncle joe,
    K. Ellis might be one of the best NT’s in the draft. Read his bio about all his off the field issues. Do they really want to add another possible headache?

  32. By uncle joe on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

When free agency starts, will the Jets-if they are allowed to due to the final eight rule-target Ravens Laudry or dare I say Chargers Safety Weddle who is in the same sentence as Reid and Polumalo! Will they flirt with the idea of signing Kris Jenkins’ little brother with the possibility of having both of them line up together!

  33. By uncle joe on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

Everyone seems to think that the Jets can’t keep Edwards,Holmes and Cromartie but I can’t see anyone coming after them. Edwards wants to be here and no one is gonna blow him away with an offer and who is gonna sign Holmes or Cromartie with their so called baggage( Cromartie loves women, who doesn’t?) knowing they have to give us a 1 and a 2? They will both again be playing for a contract which is when you get their best!

to some of these other wideouts the jets had in camp, what about wes lyons who everyone got excited about because he was 6’8 .he was going to be the next harold carmichael.how did that work out. to jet fan tom 64 how many times do we have to go down the allison and clowney road, but let it not be said I deny anyones freedom of speech, so if you want to mention those guys be my guest.in time they will be mentioned in time with gholston, even though they weren’t high picks. in time they will be guys who got to much ink on this site for what little they accomplished.

  35. By IRA on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

Tom if they grab a OLB and NT/DE with their 1st two picks [who knows when they will be] and Johnson or Brown are on the board when they come up next i grab one of them. There is no way they draft a kicker or punter. It’s not happening.
And we all talk about needs. My opinion is in no particular order NT, OLB, safety, WR, CB, OL. I think they can get by without using a draft pick on DE especially if they can bring back Ellis for 1 more year and Pitoitua comes back healthy.

  36. By GaryC on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

to uncle joe, jennings the d tackle from clemson would be a very good selection from clemson if jets had a second round pick, to bad they don’t, I don’t expect him to drop to third round,to jet fan tom if you are looking for a guy to do what you thought clowney and allison could do look for Dwayne Harris coming out of East Carolina, slot guy with punt return skills who jets might get, again if we had draft choices.

I was ONLY TEASIN’ YA, GaryC! uncle joe, agree with you completely about SH, BE, and AC, especially the parts about women and playing for contracts. Ira, I’d be fine with your picks if you put a DL in for the WR, and I definitely don’t want to have to count on Ellis and Pitoitua, that’s the kind of thinking that’s gotten us in trouble in the first place. My favorite thing on the site today, though, is Keller with his dream cars. At a time when nobody in the government seems to care about gas prices and loons in the EU want to ban cars from cities, nothin’ I like better than good ol’ American boys keeping our love affairs with our wheels alive! Hey GaryC, Jennings/Jenkins,,,,what’s a couple of letters between friends. I’m talking about trading our 1 for some teams 2 & 3 and taking him in the third if he is still there. He will be an experiment as a 3-4 end,not great as a 4-3 DT so he might slip. Would be cool replacing K.Jenkins with K.Ellis and Shawn Ellis with J.Jenkins. I just think at 30 we will be reaching with any front seven guys left so we should just take the best safety in the draft. It would be a best available talent pick and also fill a void that has been empty since Victor Green.

  41. By uncle joe on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

Hey 64 Tom, I would love if Dustin Keller drove his cars straight to Minnisota for a swap of our ones and their second rounder. Trade him now, because next year you lose him to Free Agency with no compensation. Swapping ones would get us a difference making front seven player and the safety with their second rounder. A third year TE should not run out of bounds on fourth down before the first down marker!

  42. By IRA on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

Tom, I put in a WR because of the uncertainty of BE right now. Even if there is a small window of free agency after 4/6 i still can’t see any team investing money in Edwards until his court date in May. I hope things work out for him and he is back with the Jets.
And like Wayne said only the best to Ainge. Hope he can keep it going.

  43. By Jet Fan Since '64 Tom on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

Just read about Ainge, wayne. Hard to believe he could have suffered such addictions, much less bipolar disorder, and played ANY sports for yrs, much less played so well at times. I suspect the BP diagnosis may be hasty or inaccurate, since such terms are often thrown around by less-than-qualified folks when someone’s battling addiction. He may not even know himself what he’s like off drugs. (See David Crosby’s diagnosis of “lifelong self-medication” as admitted in his autobiography.) I wish EA all the luck, but my question for the Jets is: Did we really draft him without having a clue of this? He says he’s been using since he was a kid! How is it possible that nobody saw he needed help and got it for him before he damaged his NFL career?

  44. By scjoe on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

64tom, those WRs I through out there would be viable options as 4th and 5th, maybe even a #3 if things went right, not a #1 or 2. I hate to beat a dead horse, but I still believe we never really got a good look at Allison or even Clowney in real game type situations, especially Allison, just because of the numbers game. I would take an Allison for a #4 or 5 anytime over a late pick in April, simply because of his familiarity with the system.A # 4&5 are really not that critical in the grand scheme of things anyway. They will tie up safety’s and the nickle for the most part. Of course we both know all of this will come down to whether or not BE and SH are on the roster from beginning to end.

  45. By scjoe on Mar 29, 2011 | Reply

Ira, I would agree wholeheartedly with your need positions above, but I would put them in order, on a priority basis, DE/OLB, S, NT CB, based on what we know for sure right now,as for WR? They are between a rock and a hard place there, because on draft day they will not even know if either or both (SH, BE) will be on the roster.Unless of course, they know something we do not. So the WR position is going to be an interesting one to watch. Those former Jet practice squad WRs I mentioned above may come in to play more then we may think.

  46. By Jet Fan Since '64 Tom on Mar 30, 2011 | Reply

The complete statement by Ainge, which I just read, reads like science-fiction. If they still made TV movies in any number, the rights would’ve been sold already. It’s unfathomable to me that anybody could have suffered that level of addition and even had a pro day without the problem coming out, much less gotten drafted, signed for $1.9 mil, put on a roster. I don’t feel angry at the Jets, but only because EA often looked good on the field. I do feel used and made a fool of by the organization, though, because while this guy was going off the rails, somehow no one on the team or in the front office knew it or did anything about it. To think that any of us thought this guy could be the starting QB! Wonder what Ranger 46 will have to say…

    scjoe,
Clowney just had to many drops and mistakes during camp. Too bad a guy with that speed just didn’t make it. I think they can get some production out of Turner ar WR. Problem is there won’t be enough time for him to really show much this summer. After listening to Saturday last night i would be shocked if there is any preseason at all and would be surprised if they settle before the last 2 weeks or early Sept like i originally thought. If they start this season on time it would be a big surprise. I still think the 1st 2 weeks will be added on at the end of the year.

All of you want B.Smith back yet you say we need a WR! If he can’t be a WR,can’t be a backup QB and kickoffs are being phased out, then he better learn how to play Safety because he’s outta here!

Feel bad for Ainge, but HELLO! He always had some kind of problem. There was always some kind of mystery being hidden by the Jets. Just hope the Jets or those Tennesee fan Cops don’t get in trouble because he decided to tell his story and RAT everyone out.The Cops brought him to get help instead of burying his career and that’s how he pays them back!

I definitely agree we never got a good look at Allison, scjoe, especially since he was coming off that injury. I’m more with Ira on Clowney, though — see, GaryC, I know how to cut my losses and move on! And I still say that until Sanchez is really blowing other teams away, outfitting him with anything less than guys on SH, BE, and J-Co’s level is a huge mistake. uncle joe, I like Keller but I think if anybody offered that much, we’d be crazy not to take it. I don’t know about trading Revis, though. CBs may not be the whole ball game but one of the best in the league is surely a big part of it.

64tom, I read the article and listened to the interview with Ainge, what a tragedy. How does a kid of 11 get involved in such a world? Where was the supervision? How can a parent not know there is a problem, something just not right, with a kid at that age? Then, how was it not detected in college? Didn’t anyone at that level detect anything? Now the ultimate lie, one full year in the NFL, the same NFL with all of their drug policies and conduct policies in place and no one detected anything! What a shame.

  53. By scjoe on Mar 30, 2011 | Reply

Ira, on a lighter side, Clowney may have had a case of the dropsies during camp, but I think BE proved that that is something that can be corrected. A kid coming out of college trying to make a team, maybe pressing a little to hard can cause something like that to happen. But we did witness what he is capable of in those few opportunities he did get. I would have loved to see him get substantial playing time just to see exactly what he can and can not do. I think that is the only real way to know for sure. I think all the tools are there and it is just a matter of getting an opportunity, but I fear we will never know for sure, that is due to the numbers game.

He’s no WR and good KRs aren’t all that hard to get, though I’d give him a shot at S or even RB, that’s how much I admire his athleticism. And to joes both uncle and sc, I too am amazed a guy with a lifelong addiction problem could get out of Pop Warner without anyone knowing. It’s a black mark against the Jets until they explain themselves better, whiffing on something like this makes drafting Gholston look like small change. I also think you might have a point about Clowney, scjoe, but at the end of the day I think he just didn’t earn the playing time, just another one of those things going on in camp we don’t know about…like with Ainge.

Yeah guys, we forget that these players aren’t that different from the rest of us, but that they won the gene lottery( oh yeah, and they make a lotta dough). I love to root for kids like this. I hope the Jets give him a chance…….It will give me a reason to continue rooting for them.

scjoe, Clowney is a real good athlete but something was just missig on the field.
Can somebdy please explain something to me. Jeff Saturday just got done with a 3 night stint on NFL Network. I always thought the league owned the network. If so then why would they allow a player especially one of the head reps appear and i am sure he got paid when there is a lockout going on? I thought the league was supposed to have no contact with the players and vice versa. Or was it a PR move by the league?

To all those that think Mizzou is not a priority i would tend to agree. But they basically locked him up with that 2nd rd tender and i am very happy. Lets face it he isn’t a polished WR [even though he has made some catches] he isn’t a pocket passer but one thing is one he has the ball in is hands he makes things happen plus he is one of theri better coverage guys on KO’s and punts. I am glad he will be back they need him.
    GO JETS!!!!!

I agree, Ira, nobody will give us a #2 for Smith when players like Holmes and Cromartie are going for lower than that. Last year he caught 4 passes and dropped 2, which doesn’t even qualify as “making some catches.” And contrary to the fantasies of Row, MVJ, and others, he was never a great pocket passer in college in the ready-for-the-NFL sense. He’s great on kicks and kick coverage and it’s become clear that anything else he’s done has to do with Rex, who likes him and for some weird reason decided you groom a $50 mil QB by making him learn the Wildcat when half the time he can’t even execute the basic stuff. Oh well, pretty soon Rex and Schotty will have to start getting more points on the board or one of them will be gone.

see ira, and you thought the league and the players were antagonists, they really do work arm and arm, the only people that will suffer in the end is the fan.more for their tickets while the millionaires and billionaires continue to split the revenue.

To bad about Chad, I was always a fan. thought he got a really bad rap by a lot of the fans, but I will say this, had he remained a Jet I think we would have had at least one SB appearance, possibly one win as well. Big arm or not, Chad was a winner. Love to have him back as a coach at the very least, although a #2 back up would also be an improvement over what we have now.

My take on B Smith tom and Ira, I would have to say he is probably worth more to a couple of other teams out there then the NY Jets. That is not to say I wouldn’t mind seeing him back. He can do a lot of things well, although nothing great. But given the choice between him and a #2. I would take that #2 and run as fast as I can. I think there would have been a chance someone would have given up a #3, not a #2.

And once again Antonio “My Man”Cromartie tweets what EVERY FOOTBALL FAN is saying. Now he goes against the players that are against HGH Blood Tests. This guy is FLYING up my Favorite Jets List.
