The same people criticizing Tebow as a terrible quarterback are the ones who couldn't stop him when he played against them for Denver last year and cost them a playoff spot. Cromartie should shut up and try to learn his kids names instead of criticizing Tebow. This is what Woody gets for bringing in people with questionable and no character. You wanted the headlines Woody, now you have them. Like Woody said he's in the entertainment business. He should sell the team to somebody who is in the football business and take hius PSL's with him. Another biliionaire sticking it to the average fan. Like Woody needs to collect Jets fans money on the PSL's and get the the interest on their money.

Sean Payton was a Parcells guy. He helped Brees become Brees and brought N.O. a Super Bowl. But if he were to opt out and move on, it would probably be to Dallas, where he lives and is still covented by J Jones.
8-8 this year, even if it got us into a wild-card spot would still be a failure. I'd rather be 1-15 and get a shot at better draft picks. As SCNY points out, the Colts follow-up the career of Payton with the start of the Luck era. When was the last time the Jets drafted a marqui QB? Probably Ken O'Brien who never got the credit he deserved. Joe Namath & Ken O'Brien. That's it for elite Jet QBs. Talent wise, Sanchez is really no better than Richard Todd, Browning Nagle or Glenn Foley. Time to move on. Dress McElroy!

Instead of worrying about bizarro scenarios for the jets to get to playoffs, why not just think of these three, stop the run, rush the passer, and have a consistent ground game, then you wouldn't need to worry if these eight teams lose five of their next six and the jets win five of their next six and then we have the point differential and better conference record and so on and so on.In Jetland it is always about the other teams losing then the jets winning.

To me "inconsistency" means poor coaching. And that's what Randy's article screams the loudest. SCNY- I'd take Sean Payton, though I have a little problem w his "the rules don't apply to me" attitude which our friend in Foxboro seems to share. Even before Bountygate I had a suspicion he was somehow dirty, very smug; just my gut. My vote is still Gruden for his knowledge and toughness. I think Cowher is a brighter Rex, still prefers Ground&Pound, which won't work in this century.
Spice- hang in there my friend. I spent many a good time in Manasquan and Belmar watching Karch Kiraly! Very sad.
Nervous about tomorrow, keeping the status quo would be like spending next season w Tanny, Sanchez, Scott and Greene again. A hellish deja vu

Logically speaking, by looking at the schedule, the Jets have a legitimate shot at making the playoff's even at 8-8. That is not an endorsement for them, just a statement about the competitive balance in the league. That said, if they do get in at 8-8 all signs point to a one and done because they just don't have the horses to finish the race. Which brings me to my next point, a HC in this league is as good as he personnel. It is quite apparent the NY Jets do not have great personnel. Lets start spreading the blame around.

According to Rex, the Jets season so far amounts to this: Sometimes we play well, sometimes we don't. Wow! No intelligent analysis for why his team is so inconsistent. No strategic plan for how his team will play better and win. Just an admission that once again, "we need to play better". Yeah, we know Rex.
Thanks for giving us hope. If I had a manager working for me who couldn't motivate his employees to perform at a high level, or refused to replace the under-performers (MS, et al) with hungry employees waiting in the wings to show what they can do, I'd fire said manager on the spot. We're so sick of hearing the same words come out of Rex's mouth! Why are we forsaken?

Sean Payton will be available next year. I would bet that he would not resign with the Saints for the right offer. Instead of paying big bucks for aging star QBs, old RBs, and other team castoffs give Payton an offer he can not refuse. Plus his salery will not count against the cap. There is always a debate about if coaches can impact the quality of play. look at Payton, Tomlin, the Harbaughs, Coughlin. and Belicik and their success rate. You are what your record says you are.

So the Colts have Manning for 13 years and now they have Luck. While early to project Luck as a winner he sure looks like one. We get Sanchez. Is this fair???

Watched the Giants lose. BUT, over the last 3 games it was evident that when a Giant player goes down they have the quality backups. Their starting safety goes down and a traveled Stevie Brown comes in and leads the NFL safeties in picks, has fumble recoveries, QB sacks, and all around has played great. Why can't the Jets EVER get a surprise player? Player assesment from the scouts up to Tanny must be horrible.

In my opinion the Jets do not need an infuson of talent because I think that they have much more than is needed to get the job done. What they need to do is can the attitude of Joe Mcknight and Mangold and distribute it to their teammates. When they asked theses two warriors if they thought they would be ready to play against the Patriots after sustaining injuries in the previous game they replied without hesitation that they were going to play. Both these players played in the Patriiots game even though they were not exactly 100 percent and played quite well I might add perhaps better than than some of their teamates who were 100 percent.

The way I look at it is the Jets have beaten the teams they are supposed o beat and lost to the teams they should of lost to. Miami i a much better team then giving credit for. SF, Houston, Pitt and NE are all teams that are better than the Jets. And Buffalo and Indy are beatable teams. There schedule is soft from now on and it wouldn't surprise me if they did make a run and have a chance at the end of the season of getting in to the playoffs. Sad thing is, or not so sad, they are a 500 team and will not get a top 10 pick once again.

DO NOT take a RB or QB in first round. OL and DL pass rusher every year equals success.

Had to eat some serious CROW last Sunday night when I called my old friend Nick Cinque a long-time DOLFAN who I had taken to MANY of the EXCITING New York-Miami games of the PAST. Did I say PAST?? I told him I'm jumping on the bandwagon NOW! WHy you might ask (even though i don't realistically think I can stay on it)? As soon as we do ANYTHING I'll be back rooting for our beloved J-E-T-S! BUT in the meanwhile I have to say LOOK at what's happening! The Dolphins have past us AND I guarantee they are going to beat NE if not win this year's Division than next year for sure. Miami brought in Philbin & Sherman who built the Packers into a Winners! They're NOT rebuilding! THEY'RE WINNING NOW! PLUS DRAFT PICKS TO BOOT! IT'S CALLED FOOTBALL MGMT!!!

while these stats for Sanchez are terrible, i still cant hop on the "start or cut Tebow" train. However i do think we need to give him a bigger part in our Offense. If a competent OC perceived the "Tebowcat" as an "extra time out" as Sparano stated earlier in the season, why the heck wouldnt you use it?! Our O was passable with a weapon like Brad Smith to give Sanchez a chance to sulk it out on the sidelines for a series or so. I dont want Tebow to start over Sanchez, but dang it if we are gonna give draft picks (that could have value if we could evaluate talent) then we might as well use what we got for tossing away those picks. but cutting him would just put us farther back... i dont see the logic in cutting him loose now.

We keep changing WRs year after year or giving a WR (Holmes) an elite staus paychek for only averaging 44 catches per year. Perhaps our WRs are not the problem. Perhaps a QB who could throw accurately would make all the difference.A RB who in 3 out of 4 games is lucky to have a 2.5 yard run average. An OL that does not perform consistently but I will give a MAYBE to since many teams seem to work around suspect OLs. LBs that are mostly old and slow or backup quality only. DBs and safety could use some changes but a winnable combination. There are far too many changes needed to fix in one year. But we need to start with Mr. T, scouts, OC, and HC. I am not sure about DC but a clean house is probably best.

Looking at those stats above for Mark Sanchez you have to ask yourself why he continues to be the starting QB for this team. The one that I, along with a few others, always point out is that YAC (4.0) That, more then any other confirms his inaccuracy, even more then his completion percentage, (which has lingered near the very bottom for 3+ seasons now) because all of those diving catches, reaching catches and jump catches still go down as completions, although there is no chance for YAC. If there were a separate category for the "difficult" catch, I fear Mark Sanchez completion percentage would hover around 40-45%

Hey I really though Sanchez came of age in the NE game and I said it. But hey I'll admit I was wrong (boy was I wrong) But I think after the bye, Sanchez will go on a hot streak and complete 4 in a row for 17.75 yards (total not average folks).
Rex with his keen eye for offense will have his pat answer" I see this kid getting better every week". Welcome to my bizzaro world.
