8-8 this year, even if it got us into a wild-card spot would still be a failure. I’d rather be 1-15 and get a shot at better draft picks. As SCNY points out, the Colts follow-up the career of Payton with the start of the Luck era. When was the last time the Jets drafted a marqui QB? Probably Ken O’Brien who never got the credit he deserved. Joe Namath & Ken O’Brien. That’s it for elite Jet QBs. Talent wise, Sanchez is really no better than Richard Todd, Browning Nagle or Glenn Foley. Time to move on. Dress McElroy!

Thanks for giving us hope. If I had a manager working for me who couldn’t motivate his employees to perform at a high level, or refused to replace the under-performers (MS, et al) with hungry employees waiting in the wings to show what they can do, I’d fire said manager on the spot. We’re so sick of hearing the same words come out of Rex’s mouth! Why are we forsaken?

There is always a debate about if coaches can impact the quality of play. look at Payton, Tomlin, the Harbaughs, Coughlin. and Belicik and their success rate. You are what your record says you are.

Watched the Giants lose. BUT, over the last 3 games it was evident that when a Giant player goes down they have the quality backups. Their starting safety goes down and a traveled Stevie Brown comes in and leads the NFL safeties in picks, has fumble recoveries, QB sacks, and all around has played great. Why can’t the Jets EVER get a surprise player? Player assesment from the scouts up to Tanny must be horrible.

Miami i a much better team then giving credit for. SF, Houston, Pitt and NE are all teams that are better than the Jets. And Buffalo and Indy are beatable teams. There schedule is soft from now on and it wouldn’t surprise me if they did make a run and have a chance at the end of the season of getting in to the playoffs. Sad thing is, or not so sad, they are a 500 team and will not get a top 10 pick once again.

DO NOT take a RB or QB in first round. OL and DL pass rusher every year equals success.

However i do think we need to give him a bigger part in our Offense. If a competent OC perceived the “Tebowcat” as an “extra time out” as Sparano stated earlier in the season, why the heck wouldnt you use it?! Our O was passable with a weapon like Brad Smith to give Sanchez a chance to sulk it out on the sidelines for a series or so. I dont want Tebow to start over Sanchez, but dang it if we are gonna give draft picks (that could have value if we could evaluate talent) then we might as well use what we got for tossing away those picks. but cutting him would just put us farther back… i dont see the logic in cutting him loose now.

I prefer Mark to Tim ,though we have sperano as O coordinator , speedy wideouts with size and strength for run blocking and a coach that thinks all you need is to RUN THE ROCK AND MANAGE THE CLOCK the problem is our QB throws beautifull accurate passes on stop routs and stop routs only and wideouts that are greener than my beer on saint pats day, not to mention the fact that we CAN`T RUN THE ROCK let alone MANAGE THE CLOCK.

Perhaps our WRs are not the problem. Perhaps a QB who could throw accurately would make all the difference.A RB who in 3 out of 4 games is lucky to have a 2.5 yard run average. An OL that does not perform consistently but I will give a MAYBE to since many teams seem to work around suspect OLs. LBs that are mostly old and slow or backup quality only. DBs and safety could use some changes but a winnable combination. There are far too many changes needed to fix in one year. But we need to start with Mr. T, scouts, OC, and HC. I am not sure about DC but a clean house is probably best.

The one that I, along with a few others, always point out is that YAC (4.0) That, more then any other confirms his inaccuracy, even more then his completion percentage, (which has lingered near the very bottom for 3+ seasons now) because all of those diving catches, reaching catches and jump catches still go down as completions, although there is no chance for YAC. If there were a separate category for the “difficult” catch, I fear Mark Sanchez completion percentage would hover around 40-45%

But hey I’ll admit I was wrong (boy was I wrong) But I think after the bye, Sanchez will go on a hot streak and complete 4 in a row for 17.75 yards (total not average folks).
