With those picks we could get Ertz plus one of the OLB passrushers I mentioned to Frank and then with the 8th pick in Rd 2 we could get M.Ball. Every Moc I’ve seen has Ball going in the mid 3rd so if thats truley where he goes with could use that 2nd rd pick on one of the o-lineman and still get Ball early in the 3rd. How awsome would that be?
Of course if Rex is really in charge we will draft 7 guys on defence? I’m seeing a lot of people here thinking we can trade Sanchez & Tebow for picks? Personally I would love that but I cant imagine any team dumb enough to want either of them?Unless Karan gets a G.M job some place?

Went through a terrible engagement, blah blah.. The first order of business should be to cut Sanchez. I think with a new GM, new offense, the Jets need to get rid of their biggest problem. I also would like to know where Braylon Edwards stands. Two big, physical WR’s like Holmes and him would be amazing with a 4.3ish guy like Hill in the slot. Imagine the possibilities. Mcknight is just a kick returner. I am sold on that. Kerley can return punts. Also, I think Powell has shown enough flash to warrant Greene on the trading block. Bell needs to be cut. Haven’t seen the film on college prospects but S is still a need. Go Jets

GARY C, you make a great point about L.T being the most important spot on the line. But as you also said Joeckel will be long gone by the 9th pick. Dont get me wrong, I respect your opinion and if our roster was as good as N.E,Balt,Seattle or any of the upper eschellon teams I would grab a great O.T in a second! I havn’t checked yet but if a team has 2 ist rd picks in this draft I would strongly consider tradeing down.There are probably 45 to 50 players who will be considered by teams in the 1st rd.

I think we have all overused the term “elite” I also believe you underestimate the importance of a “quality” QB. You talk about great running games, but look at the Vikings this past weekend, they had 176 yards rushing in their game, but they will all be home next week watching Rodgers (who happens to be one of those few “elite” QBs of this decade) moving on in the playoff’s.

The field this year is pretty strong, and by that I don’t mean full of potential 1 st rounder’s, I mean potential 2nd and 3rd rounder’s. The other thing is that they are all pretty much clones of one another, at 6’4″ 225-230 LBs. It will be a crap shoot like no other, that is why the new GM and the scouting dept have to do their home work. As for that Sanchez remark? That was more sarcasm, Honestly, I don’t see him starting in 2013, also I don’t see them getting the top overall pick in the 2014 draft. I do think that Clowney will go # 1 overall no matter who picks, barring major injury of course.

Rex said he thought his biggest failure was not creating a team that represented his personality enough, especially the offense! WOW! What does a Rex Ryan offense look like. Does he know?
Even though we all wanted news, the truth is that w/o a GM in place nothing could really be learned from Woody/Rex.

That could change as the Senior Bowl and combine are the two big events yet to be played. Dysert is in the group that includes Tyler Bray, Mike Glennon,Landy Jones,E.J.Manuel and Ryan Nassib. My guess is a couple of these guys will emerge and wind up going as early as late 1st to mid 2nd rd as teams seem more inclined to reach for guys at the Q.B posisition? i dont know anything you dont know as to how good any of them will turn out to be. My opinions are based solely on what I have personally seen or read. I am not an expert by any means.

How great did the Bama OL do? And the two RB’s? The center won three awards at three different OL positions, RG, LT C. One of the reasons that I am not high on Tyler Bray is that he does lousy against top competition like SEC schools. Too many picks. I like his size but thats about it. This kid Bridgewater is eligible to come out this year. Yes, he could use another year in school but if he does, he could be the steal in the second or third round after the popular picks go before him. Add 2 strong OL to our starting mix, a big TE along with a cheap resigned Keller, re-sign Landry and/or Bell to play w Revis and get Bridgewater? We can do this with $30mil CAP savings from 2 Smiths, Pace and Scott departures

Look at the mess the Dolphins have now with Jake Long. They spent the 2nd pick in the 08 draft on him & now they either have to pay him 12 mill or loose him as a f/a. Parcells always said you just cant afford to draft O-linemen early 1st rd. as no matter how good they are they only comprise one 5th of your line. You are better off with 5 good guys vs. one stud & 4 bumbs. The salary cap simply doesn’t allow the luxury of tieing up that kind of money. Plus, what if the guy gets hurt or is a bust like Ducasse? I will be really upset if we go O-line at #9!!!! There are simply too many difference makers available to go that way!

His scores aren’t that great. Obviously, ya’know, if he eliminates the mistakes I think he can break par. He just has to play better. I believe that he can win the Masters this year. You may all think I’m crazy but I really believe that he can win. Well, hope you guys are enjoying the playoffs. Sorry the team didn’t get there this year, but, ya’know, obviously, we’re going to win all our games next year. As long as I’m the head coach and Mark is the QB….Blah blah blah….

But he was supposed to be a “contract guy” meanwhile he was handing out bad contracts (Sanchez & Holmes) like they were lolipops. That this team is in bad shape because of these contracts. Also this guy was supposed to be a salary cap guy & our salary cap is a mess. Even with the major cuts of Bart Scott, Calvin Pace, Jason Smith & Eric Smith. We will barley be able to sign our own free agemts & no others. I was looking at jetscap.com & unless I misinterperted it. It look REAL BAD!
